WILLIAM H MCFARLAND
Executive Vice President
William H. McFarland has had a very distinguished career in residential, resort and commercial real estate. Over his 35 years in the industry, he has been responsible for building more than 40,000 homes and apartments. Much of his career was spent in Orange County, California holding senior management positions with The Irvine Company and the Irvine Community Development Company. Today McFarland works as a private developer and investor in real estate projects in California and Utah. He is a graduate of Arizona State University, where he received his Bachelors Degree, and California State University at Los Angeles where he received a Masters in Business.
Chief Executive Officer
Since joining The Fieldstone Group of Companies 1985, Alan has held various management positions, including Director of Accounting and Information Services, Corporate Controller, and Treasurer. Alan graduated Cum Laude from California State Polytechnic University with a Bachelor of Science in accounting and finance. Before joining The Fieldstone Group of Companies, he was a Consulting Manager with Kenneth Leventhal Company and was previously in business with Price Waterhouse. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the California Society of CPAs.
After graduating from Brigham Young University in 1999 with a degree in Construction Management, Troy moved to the Southeast where he worked with a large ‘On your lot’ builder. During this time he held positions as Superintendent, Production Manager, and General Manager. He then moved to Nevada where he worked with a production builder as the Director of Construction. In 2005 Troy joined Fieldstone Homes as the Director of Construction and in January 2010 he was promoted to the Utah Division President.
Director of Finance and Accounting
Lauren has Bachelor’s (2007) and Master’s (2009) degrees in Accounting from the University of Utah. She spent five years working in the Ernst & Young Financial Services audit practice in Salt Lake City, where she specialized in banking and capital markets clients. In 2014, Lauren left EY to work with American Express, where she was a Director of Financial Reporting and an Interim Director of Accounting over Treasury Operations. Lauren joined Fieldstone in July of 2017 as the Corporate Controller. In June of 2018, she was promoted to the position of Director of Accounting and Finance. Lauren is a Certified Public Accountant, a member of the Utah Association of Certified Public Accountants, and a former member of the University of Utah Young Alumni Board of Directors.
Vice President of Land Acquisitions
Jason Harris has worked in the real estate industry since 2005. After graduating from BYU in 2008 with a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management Jason has been responsible for acquiring, entitling and selling thousands of lots along the Wasatch Front. Jason joined the Fieldstone team in September of 2013 and has transacted some of the largest land sales and purchases in company history.
