Roofs

The roof on your new home is made of concrete roof tiles or composition shingles or clay tiles. All are extremely durable. A tile roof affords the maximum protection against fire and adds beauty and quality to your home for many years.

Do not walk on your tile roof. The weight of a person can easily break the tiles. Leaking may occur and costly repairs could be necessary. If access to your roof is required, call a professional roofing contractor for advice and assistance. Check for loose or broken tile and repair as necessary.

If gutters are installed on your home, they are designed to channel rain water away from the doorways and into drains. We recommend that you inspect and clean the gutters twice each year. You can do this yourself or contract the job to a professional. Check the hardware that fastens the gutters to the house for loose nails and seals. Replacement materials are available at home centers and hardware stores.
