Named to Builder Magazine's Top 100 List - 5/18/11

New Homes Coming to Vacant Land - 4/8/11
Southern California-based homebuilder Fieldstone Homes has begun construction on a cul-de-sac style six-home neighborhood on long-time vacant land near the intersection of Camino Del Avion and Del Obispo - The Cove at Dana Point. This project is on a site that had been partially developed previously. The first developer went bankrupt and the land was bank-owned until Fieldstone acquired it in 2010."
Construction of New Homes at Del Obispo and Camino del Avion - 4/4/11
Six new homes are being built at the southwest corner of Camino del Avion and Del Obispo Street, just past Marco Forster Middle School. Home construction is expected to start in July and wrap up in early summer 2012. The small tract will be called the Cove and consist of houses ranging in size from 3,100 to 3,600 square feet and are expected to go on the market for about $900,000 each.
Intersection Work Paving Way for New Homes - 3/31/11
Work at the intersection of Camino del Avion and Del Obispo Street is continuing as Fieldstone Homes California prepares to begin construction in July on homes in its new community, The Cove at Dana Point. Work includes widening the streets by adding a turn lane to both and rewiring and retiming signals for smoother traffic flow. That project is expected to continue the next couple of months.
Builders unfazed by new home sales drop - 3/29/11
Read David Greminger's response to the data, "I don't want to say those figures don't matter, but I prefer to look at micro-economic figures in our market than macro-economic figures. What's driving the homebuying decisions really has to do with local things. It's a local business. You can look at those national figures, but I don't make my decisions based on that."
Land Sales Largely Private Affair - 2/27/11
Recent deals made by Irvine's Fieldstone Group of Cos. are reflective of the cautious approach many area builders are taking on land buys. Fieldstone is focusing on smaller lots where they can start building in a matter of months instead of spending years working on planning and entitlements. Last summer, privately held Fieldstone, which also operates under the Fieldstone Homes name, bought a six-lot property near Dana Point's boundary with San Juan Capistrano.
Fieldstone to Develop Lots in Rancho Santa Margarita - 1/16/11
The project in Rancho Santa Margarita represents one of the last undeveloped properties in the city, and will be converted by Fieldstone into a development of eight homes on large view lots that will have both the benefits of a small private cul-de-sac street and also be part of the large master planned community of Trabuco Highlands with all its amenities.

HOUSING: Builder FieldStone gets back in the game - 1/10/11
FieldStone Homes purchased parts of developments in Encinitas and San Marcos, along with two projects in Orange County, and plans to start building, a company executive said Monday. FieldStone planned to build 2,238 to 3,516 square-foot houses on the property and sell them in the high $300,000 range. It also bought undeveloped land in Encinitas where it will build nine 1,747 to 2,199 square-foot homes for an as-yet-undetermined price.
Reworked Fieldstone Marks Local Return - 1/9/11
Irvine's Fieldstone Group of Cos. is cautiously restarting its Southern California homebuilding operations. The company, which also operates under the Fieldstone Homes name, was one of the area's largest privately held builders near the peak of the market, selling close to 2,000 homes a year. It's sold more than 26,000 homes since the early 1980s.
